1 Mostly sane, most of the time.  Tue, Jul 10, 2012 5:50:20pm

Um, my days of poverty were in college. I was planning on things getting better after college. I relished the idea of spending 50 cents on candy without having to seriously consider if I could afford it.

Maybe she could fake being poor for a few days and then write a book. Isn't that what her people do?

I can easily remember my bottom day. I was 18+3days, walking across a bridge in Pittsburgh with a frying pan bruise rising under my eye and everything I owned in the satchel I was carrying. It's been nothing but up for the last 50 years (almost to the day).

What is it with kids these days that Huffington Post feels compelled to publish their self-absorbed crap? I don't think that HuffPo would publish any article that I sent them, based on my 5 decades of life experience and raising 9 self-sufficient adults.

My baby girl is two years older than this crybaby, has had a steady job since she turned 18, lives in hip, glamorous Brooklyn and yet nobody has approached her about writing a book or a TV series about her awesome life experiences. Why is that? I guess it's because we don't know any of the hip people.

Also, Taylor Cotter is an editorial assistant at StudentAdvisor.com, not a rising young Hedge Fund star. She has plenty of time to get laid off and become totally unemployed and LIVE HER DREAM.

Since I didn't find her first couple of paragraphs particularly clear, the "laid off" part seems an achievable goal.

I occasionally indulge in intense fits of self-pity that I never got to be a freelance writer in New York City.

Then I get over it.

But I am thirty-nine, not twenty-two. The fault is not with this whiny young woman, it's with the editor that thought this was an interesting story.

Wow she has a great career ahead of her if she switches to writing for any major Right-wing organization. She should start sending this out to prospective employers to show how deeply she understands and can communicate to others the necessary concepts of self-absorption, entitlement, and narcissism.

I remember a similar article a few years ago, also in HuffPo, about a young "experimental artist" who complained that "hedge fund hipsters" were moving into her "arty" neighborhood in Brooklyn and driving up the rents--also her landlord was threatening to evict her in favor of somebody who actually might pay the rent on time and she thought that wasn't fair, considering she was a "true artist." It was such breathtaking bullshit but now Taylor has topped it in terms of entitlement.
